| Visual Arts Center - UT November 1, 10am – 6:30 pm Art Building, Room 1.120 Art in Practice: Aaron Baker, Curator of the Playboy Collection This edition of Art in Practice invites Aaron Baker, Curator of the Playboy Collection, to delve into the specifics of his role as an archivist and advocate of original artworks by 20th century icons, such as Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann, Franz Kline, Salvador Dali, and Alberto Vargas. A working artist in addition to his role as a curator, Baker's unique position in maintaining the legacy of the Playboy Collection's name makes him an extraordinary lecturer, allowing unique access to the often-unexpected occupations that exist in today's art world. |

| Visual Arts Center - UT November 4, 8 pm Southeast Lawn of the Art Building Fade In: Video selections from The Mobile Archive The Mobile Archive is a project initiated in 2007 as a sister project to the Israeli Center for Digital Art's video archive that holds over 2,000 video and multimedia works in Holon, Israel. Various works from The Mobile Archive have been curated for this special Fade In edition and will run continuously on a loop until midnight each evening through December 17. More selections from the archive are presented as a video library in The Arcade of the VAC. |

| Visual Arts Center - UT November 29, 7 pm Art Building, Room 1.102 Special screening of documentary film MAKE The documentary MAKE is an intimate journey into the lives of four American self-taught artists: Prophet Royal Robertson, Hawkins Bolden, Judith Scott, and Ike Morgan. All of theses artists find their most powerful voice through art. Directed by department alumnus Scott Ogden and Malcolm Hearn, the documentary demonstrates how their interwoven stories bring together individuals whose worlds are as unique as their creations and explore why they are each consumed by their obsessive art making. This special screening is presented in conjunction with the VAC exhibition, MAKE, curated by co-director, Scott Ogden. Followed by a Q &A with Scott Ogden. |
