This conversation explores the idea that artists and historians today see far more images much more quickly than they did a few decades ago and the ways of sifting through and studying an abundance of images have changed in response. |

Further exploring issues pertaining to the exhibition Across the Divide, the VAC presents Yellow Ox Mountain. China's inescapably turbulent political atmosphere from the Cultural Revolution to the Tiananmen Square incident in 1989 stipulated a movement of contemporary Chinese artists' diaspora to New York City. Yellow Ox Mountain is a short documentary that reflects on the artistic endeavors and the personal journeys of two such artists—Zhang Hongtu (b. 1943) and Zhang Jian-Jun (b. 1955).
